Hi and welcome, my patient watchers and anyone else that might stop by! A long time has passed with minimal activity on my part and a presentation long due.
I started this gallery in November 2008 and quickly filled it up with some older works and a little new art. My start in this community was very good; in February the following year I was astonished when I received a Daily Deviation, something I had not expected in a long time, if ever. I had already seen so many highly gifted and professional artists around and was honored to have a DD among them.
This encouraging start and all the interesting artists around got me hooked on this place with a will to really take part, but free time got more and more scarce.
I have been keeping track of my gallery here quite regularly but only by checking messages and deviations, and not really taken the time and energy to be active myself.
The picture that was awarded the DD [link] has actually been part of my lacking time. Well, not the picture itself but the project that it belonged to, which is what I'm spending most of my time on right now. I'm one of the people running the indie developer Arrowhead Game Studios and right now we're making the title Magicka (I'll post a few links to articles and interviews next time). A little time ago we signed with publisher Paradox Interactive and when you're working with a publisher things speed up even more and there's loads of new things that has to be done. We're working well past full time so the little time I have left is rarely spent at the computer. I already sit there a solid amount of hours every day mainly making textures and some props.
So that's what I mostly do with my life right now. I'm sure nobody is that interested in what other small things I fiddle with in the time left. What I would like though is to spend at least a little more time with my artistic side, aside from what I do at work.
I intend to use this journal to share some news and explore thoughts on my development and art, and hopefully share any interesting tips I can collect. New posts might get quite irregular in stressful periods and I might not be able to pull of any masterpieces right now, but I should be able to keep a bit more active with my writings and make some smaller experimenting pieces.
I think that's enough writing for now or I'll just scare my visitors off! Also it is very much time for sleep
